The Differences Between Online and Campus Degree Programs

The first and the most obvious difference is that the online programs are conducted over the Internet and you can be anywhere on Earth and study at the same time , while the campus programs (sometimes referred to as traditional ones) require your presence at some higher education institution.

The classes are flexible and students can control their learning environment, moving through courses at their own pace. The accessibility of online degree courses is unprecedented, and at the same time you do not have to travel anywhere, you do not have to pay the rent and most importantly - you do not have to change your life in any way (be away from your family and friends for example, or to miss your favorite restaurant, or football team). No one does even have to know that you are studying - you do not have to take absence from work, or to explain to your friends where you go every morning/evening - everything happens in the privacy of your home (or any computer with the Internet connection)

There are other differences as well. Primarily, many online degree programs have open enrollment - this means that you can start your studies whenever you want during a calendar year, while you can't do that with the campus program, i.e. you have to wait for the beginning of the school year.

Then, most of the online degree programs do not require from you to be at classes at the particular time of day. This allows you to choose the study time which suits you best, be it in the evening, in the morning, after work… On the other hand, campus students have to attend their classes at the times set in their timetables.

The third difference is that you direct your studies by yourself. Unlike the campus programs where professors direct the study process to fit the majority of student population, here you will have to adapt the program to fit your needs. This will be somewhat harder, but it gives you more freedom.

Finally, online degree programs and campus degree programs differ in students' interaction . At campuses, students are much more connected to their classmates and professors, while their online colleagues are not. And while this is regarded as a downside by young students, it actually helps older ones to finish their studies, since some of them would feel uncomfortable at campus, surrounded by the colleagues who are fifteen or twenty years younger.

In Columbia Pictures' The Karate Kid, 12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying - and the feeling is mutual - but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre's feelings make an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. In the land of kung fu, Dre knows only a little karate, and Cheng puts "the karate kid" on the floor with ease. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life. [Less]

It is easy to guest the story. But if we watched it, then we can see something different with another movie. What i say is when the traning scene at first. We can see that Jaden Smith just put off his jacket, take it, hang it, take it again, put it off again, again, and again. In my opinion at that time is Jackie just want to give some lessons about how to respect Mother or Father. But after Jaden feel bored, finally he get mad to Jackie and Jackie show us something that me (audience) and Jaden don't expect before. Jackie shows us that learning kungfu can be started with a really simple thing in our life, like put a jacket into right place. For me, this is very creative and special from this movie.

I can't give another comment, because basically the story is similar with another kid movie. But one more time, we have to give a big applause for the creativity. Good job. I like this movie.

I give score 8,3 points for this movie. Keep watching movie and analysis it. Viktor Mononimbar (movie analyzolic). GBU.

Piranha 3D 2010

Well the much anticipated movie Piranha 3D has descended upon America. Its' release date was on August 20th, 2010.

I suspected It would be a big hit. It plays on peoples fears of this carnivorous creature. Piranhas are well known and feared for their teeth, razor sharp and capable of shredding flesh in seconds.

Piranhas have a reputation for being very violent, which is something reminiscent of how people viewed sharks at the time when the movie jaws was debuted. I remember being about 7yrs old when Jaws came to the theaters. I wouldn't go into the lake much less the ocean because of that movie. Since I've grown up I now love these kinds of movies if they are well made. If they are cheaply done, you can tell and they just seem cheesy.

Since my husband and I love these kind of movies, we were sure to go to the theater to see this one to get the full effect. Many times we just wait for a movie to come out on video, but this one has peaked my interest. And how better to see a 3D movie than on a big screen at the theater.

Piranha 3D - Movie Review

Okay, I finally got to see the movie, and let me just say WOW! If you are the type of person who doesn't like blood and guts, gore kind of movies then this movie is not for you. Because there is plenty of it. As expected for this type of film.

What I didn't expect however is that there would be so much nudity, mostly women, but in an unexpected scene, there was well let me just say too much man parts floating around. All of this I could have done without. I think it was totally unnecessary and would have been just as effective without it.

The special effects were quite good however, the CG piranha were done really well and did look like something out of prehistoric times. And the sheer number of them were staggering.

There were also some very beautiful scenes underwater at first before all the mayhem. Deep underwater cave scenes and such.

As far as the 3D part goes, some scenes did look quite good, however it didn't look like the 3D effect I thought they would. Nothing really seemed to jump out at me, or feel like I could reach out and touch it like I have experienced with other 3D movies.

I won't spoil it for anyone who wants to go see it but, I was a little bit disappointed. Too much nudity, not needed. And some of the gore scenes were too over the top. Maybe even a bit unbelievable. But then again a prehistoric piranha species that had been under a huge lake for thousands of years seems unrealistic as well. After all it is just a movie.

I don't think it was worth the price of admission and might even say that I probably would wait for the dvd. It was a good experience, but it left me feeling a little disappointed.

The story was fairly typical as well, Spring Break on a big lake, thousands of teenagers out to have a good time, not listening to law enforcement. A couple of people you hate so you don't mind when they meet their demise. And a young boy and his young siblings who manage to escape the bloodthirsty piranha.

If you don't mind the gore and the blatant nudity then you will probably like this movie. So go see it enjoy it.

The very last scene says it all, I think by that scene, there will be a Piranha 3D sequel.

Mistress of Spices

This is a movie I have wanted to see for ages and I finally got my hands on it. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I love the use of the same actors from 'Bend It Like Beckham' and 'Bride and Prejudice' but the story was really so weak. Basic premise: girl from India has the gift to discern which spice belongs to each of us (she also has psychic ability which is a little weird and quite unnerving for her as well). The spice helps us to be more productive, to find our true love, to make our lives better all around - whatever. I kept thinking if mine was garlic and my husband shouldn't eat garlic what a disaster that would be - but I guess 'the spices' would figure that out.
She is not supposed to have a life apart from the spices and, of course, she begins to fall in love. As her attention is taken away, even momentarily, from the spices to the man, disastrous things begin to happen. Okay, I know it's a love story and the cinematography is beautiful but couldn't we have a little more oomph? The shop is wonderful. I love cooking with different flavours and spices is one of the ways that I accomplish that and this movie is filled with vibrant colour and bins and bins of different powders and chilies. That part is fun. Our heroine is gorgeous (as is our hero) but is doesn't seem enough somehow. I would love to say run out and see this movie but unless you have an hour and a half with absolutely nothing else to do, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
